Facilitator and community artist

As lead artistic facilitator for the inclusive young people’s theatre company Hackney Shed I facilitate, write for and direct large casts of young people between the ages of 7 and 25. Through Hackney Shed I have collaborated with companies including Hackney Empire, Access All Areas, Little Angel Puppet Theatre, Jackson’s Lane and The National Theatre.

As a facilitator I specialise in creating work inclusively and that strives to remove barriers to access. I am passionate and skilled in fore fronting the voices and talents of whoever is participating in the workshops I run and I use drama to encourage young people to communicate, to support each other and of course to express their creativity.

I have particular experience in working with performers who have a learning disability and/or are neurodiverse. I have also created work with young carers, young people in care and young people who have or whose parents have a mental health condition.

I have also taught at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama on the MA Advanced Theatre Practice course and BA and MA Drama and Applied Theatre courses.

I can design and facilitate bespoke devised theatre workshops for your school, college, community setting or degree programme.
